Customers will now be able to earn Stitch Fix credit for “gently worn” apparel items they give back to the brand via ThredUp’s Resale-as-a-Service (RaaS) functionality. Shoppers can visit this page to generate a prepaid shipping label and send their apparel, shoes and accessories to ThredUp, earning Stitch Fix credit for any items that sell.
“At Stitch Fix, our mission is to help people discover the styles they will love that fit perfectly so they always look and feel their best,” said Debbie Woloshin, Chief Marketing Officer at Stitch Fix in a statement. “As part of this, we support our clients through wardrobe updates daily – from seasonal refreshes to life and body changes. Our partnership with ThredUp allows us to offer our clients a solution to responsibly update the clothing, footwear and accessories that no longer work for them, while also enabling them to earn credit towards new pieces that better meet their current style needs.”
Earlier this month, Stitch Fix reimagined its brand and customer experience following several years of weak sales and a shrinking customer base. Technology advancements, a refreshed brand identity and a new marketing campaign showing how Stitch Fix solves common shopping complaints are being rolled out. It’s likely that the addition of the resale program by ThredUp is a way for Stitch Fix to attract new customers and retain existing ones. Stitch Fix’s former chief merchant Loretta Choy discussed the company’s strategies in this Retail Remix episode.
ThredUp partnered with resale site Rebag in November 2023, and retailers including American Eagle Outfitters, Fabletics, J.Crew, Tommy Hilfiger and Madewell have leveraged the ThredUp RaaS to power their own resale programs.
