Etsy has unveiled a virtual Etsy House, an interactive augmented reality experience that allows shoppers to “walk through” and purchase the vintage and craft-oriented items furnishing a curated digital home.
Featuring photorealistic and true-to-scale renderings and 360-degree visuals, the virtual shoppable home is filled with holiday décor and gifts, furniture, artwork and surprises. When a shopper “hovers” over items, a pop-up will provide more information on the product and a link to purchase.
“Do you ever find yourself on Etsy admiring a beautiful piece of artwork, a statement light fixture, or some bespoke furniture and wonder what it would look like in your home?” asked Jessica Doyle, VP Global Communications and Marketing, Etsy in a blog introducing the virtual home. “Now, you won’t have to, thanks to The Etsy House.”
Etsy also has added The Etsy House homepage, featuring shoppable items from the site. The Etsy House was created in collaboration with creative visualization studio The Boundary.
