Private equity firms may buy Petco Carlyle Group LP and KKR & Co. are exploring the idea of placing bids on pet products chain Petco. Although the retailer is already owned by private equity firms, sources told The Wall Street Journal that executives will be meeting with potential buyers next week.

Instagram goes beyond the square: Instagram has shaken up its user experience once again by allowing folks to expand beyond the standard square format. The company announced that users will be able to post photos and videos in landscape or portrait mode.
