Uniqlo’s 3 New NYC Stores to Feature Hyperlocal Art and Apparel

Published: March 4, 2026

Uniqlo will be opening three new stores in NYC this spring, each with its own unique product assortment and look. Each store will feature exclusive, location-specific designs created in collaboration with local artists, cultural partners and institutions via its UTme! custom print program. These store-specific designs will be available on T-shirts and tote bags and also will be used to inform in-store displays and experiences.

At the Bryant Park store, opening March 6, the design will celebrate the New York Public Library (NYPL)’s legacy of access, learning and culture, as well as designs inspired by the city’s transportation network. In Williamsburg, Brooklyn, opening March 20, New York-based Japanese visual artist Hiroshi Masuda’s work will be featured, and Masuda will visit the store during the opening weekend for a special live art experience.

On April 3, Uniqlo will open its Union Square location with an in-store tribute honoring the store’s historical location at 860 Broadway, site of Andy Warhol’s Factory studio. The store will pay tribute to the iconic artist as well as to the Strand Bookstore, a beloved NYC cultural institution.

Each new store also will engage the local community through RE.Uniqlo, the retailer’s circularity program, with in-store donation bins where customers can drop off gently used Uniqlo garments that will be donated to local nonprofit partners including the Department of Homeless Services and Covenant House.

Supporting Expanded Access to the New York Public Library

Uniqlo’s partnership with the NYPL goes beyond the Bryant Park store location’s assortment. The retailer is supporting NYPL’s The Library After Hours program, which transforms the Stephen A. Schwartzman Building on Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street (the one with the lions out front) into a space with curated entertainment, food, drinks and rare behind-the-scenes access to the NYPL’s collections.

In October, Uniqlo will provide support through a “Teen Takeover” edition of The Library After Hours, investing in programming designed to encourage young people across all five of NYC’s boroughs.

“New York City has inspired Uniqlo since we opened our first store here 20 years ago, through its creativity, diversity and strong sense of community,” said Fuminori Adachi, CEO of Uniqlo USA in a statement. “As one of the city’s most iconic cultural institutions, the New York Public Library helps sustain that spirit, and this partnership reflects our commitment to supporting the spaces that bring New Yorkers together.”

In October 2025 Uniqlo revealed plans to open a total of 11 new U.S. stores in 2026, in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Boston and Annapolis, Md., bringing the retailer’s U.S. store count to nearly 90 locations. In January 2026 Uniqlo said it would enter the Miami market for the first time and deepen its presence in Texas.
