TXT e-solutions
, an international software products and solution provider, has appointed Peter Charness to Senior Vice President (SVP) of North America and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

Charness has extensive experience in the merchandise and supply chain planning space, and previously held leadership roles at JDA Software and Manthan Systems.

In his new role as SVP of North America and CMO, Charness will help TXT improve relationships with its customer base of more than 350 global brands and retailers worldwide, while expanding its presence in the U.S.

“Following our acquisition of MAPLE LAKE in 2012 and the recruitment of key personnel in Sales and Delivery in North America throughout 2013, Mr. Charness’ appointment in January 2014 continues our strategy of increasing resources and our focus on the North American market,” said Marco Guida, CEO of TXT. “TXT continues to leverage our extensive experience of working with over 350 global brands and retailers worldwide in developing our next generation integrated planning solution. TXTPlanning was built from the ground up on a single platform to cover all merchandising processes, from product design, through to in store replenishment.”

Charness noted that retailers today are “faced with rapid changes in technology and shopper behavior, their critical planning requirements are often supported by a hodgepodge of technologies and processes that are poorly integrated, featuring the same basic capabilities that were introduced over a decade ago. I am very pleased to be joining TXT to support the roll-out of this next generation planning solution to the market.”
