ShopJimmy Doubles Online Sales With Improved Site Performance

, a distributor of TV parts and accessories, has improved page views and total online sales by partnering with Akamai Technologies, a provider of site performance solutions.

Since implementing Dynamic Site Accelerator Premier and Web Application Firewall, ShopJimmy successfully has safeguarded the e-Commerce site from potential online threats while maintaining scale and performance. As a result, the retailer has increased page views by 35% and nearly doubled online sales.

“We constantly are striving to be at the forefront of new technologies and trends that drive the e-Commerce industry forward,” said Ryan Zarlengo, Marketing Director, ShopJimmy. “Our site performance issues were preventing us from leading in this way. By using Akamai’s services in conjunction with our internal improvements, we are continuing to push to differentiate ourselves from our competition.”

The Akamai tools empower ShopJimmy to deliver dynamic and static site content, such as search results, shopping cart transactions and checkout functions more efficiently, allowing the company to handle two to three times more online orders per day. Overall site reliability also has improved since ShopJimmy adopted the site accelerator and firewall solutions, Zarlengo explained. Now, the company can support 20% more site visitors a month versus prior performance.
