CVS Health has appointed Tilak Mandadi as both EVP and a new role, Chief Data, Digital and Technology Officer. Mandadi will start in the role July 25, 2022, managing the company’s data, digital and technology strategy while overseeing growth and innovation through digital-led, consumer-focused experiences and services.

Prior to joining CVS Health, Mandadi was Chief Strategy, Innovation and Technology Officer of MGM Resorts International. His career also includes digital strategy roles at Disney Parks Experiences and Products and American Express.

“Technology is a catalyst for value creation and growth at CVS Health,” said Karen S. Lynch, CVS Health President and CEO in a statement. “It is crucial that we continue to enhance customer engagement and experiences, and we’re confident Tilak will drive these efforts as we prioritize serving consumers wherever and whenever they need health care.”

In February 2022, CVS said it would invest $3 billion in technology to enhance the customer experience. Noting CVS Health’s more than 44 million unique digital customers, Mandadi shared that he looks forward to cultivating the company’s existing integration of digital solutions into consumer health care.

The news of Mandadi’s appointment came on the heels of CVS Pharmacy’s expansion of its health and wellness offerings with a new skincare shop-in-shop merchandising strategy named the Skin Care Center, according to reporting by WWD. Within this space, CVS Pharmacy will carry brands such as CeraVe, La Roche-Posay, Blume, Volition Beauty and Wander Beauty.

Licensed aestheticians will be included in each Skin Care Center’s team of consultants and will be trained to use diagnostic tools such as SkinScope LED technology and ModiFace Derm Skin analyzer. The first Skin Care Centers will launch in New York City, Walnut Creek and Woodland Hills, Calif.
