BevMo! has promoted SVP of Merchandising Josiah Knutsen to the role of President and CEO. He succeeds Dmitri Haloulos, who is leaving the position after four years. The retailer also named Chief Accounting Officer and Acting CFO Denise Rowan as permanent CFO.
Knutson has been with BevMo! since 2018, where he drew upon 17 years of experience from working at Safeway and Albertsons Cos. to oversee the beverage retailer’s merchandising for its beer, wine and spirits lines.
“Josiah is an innovative, results-driven leader with a relentless focus on understanding and fulfilling customer expectations,” said Cathy Stauffer, chairman of the BevMo! Board of Directors in a statement. “Over the past year, his insight and strategic vision have been highly impactful, and we are confident that as CEO he will build on the company’s strong foundation and continue to drive innovation. As we head into the new year, we anticipate a seamless transition.”
