DemandTec To Acquire M-Factor

DemandTec, Inc., the collaborative optimization network for retailers and consumer products companies, recently announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire privately held M-Factor, Inc., a provider of predictive analytics software for marketing mix and trade investment spending. “This is a significant advancement for both DemandTec and the consumer products and retail industries we serve,” said Dan Fishback, President and CEO of DemandTec. “With the acquisition of M-Factor, DemandTec will be able to deliver a collaborative, science-driven framework for optimizing marketing mix, trade promotion planning, and shopper marketing decisions on a unified platform. We are investing in a paradigm of continuous, collaborative planning on the DemandTec network for retailers and consumer products companies alike.” The acquisition also will avail DemandTec of two patented techniques supporting predictive analytics and consumer demand science.

 


Seedlings Implements Multi-Channel Commerce Platform

Celerant Technology, provider of multi-channel retail solutions, recently completed the web development and retail software integration of its client, Seedlings. This multi-channel platform offers shoppers the ability to have the same experience of browsing through Seedlings’ baby and children’s items both in the store and on the web.

“After the launch of our E-commerce site, we were pleased to be able to provide our customers with the kind of personalized attention that we give in our store,” stated Marlene Sundquist, Vice President of Seedlings. “We feel that it is important to maintain this connection with our customers and focus on the importance of providing high quality foods, baby necessities and accessories. The Seedlings site was designed with user friendly search options and custom product layouts to provide tools for both new and recurring customers, enabling them to make informed purchasing decisions.
