Salesforce will beef up its cloud data management capabilities with the purchase of Informatica for $8 billion in equity value, net of Salesforce’s current investment in the company. Holders of Informatica’s Class A and Class B-1 common stock will receive $25 in cash per share when the acquisition closes early in Salesforce’s 2027 fiscal year, which begins in January 2027.
The combination of Informatica’s rich data catalog, data integration, governance, quality and privacy, metadata management and Master Data Management (MDM) services with the Salesforce platform will help establish a unified architecture for agentic AI — helping enable AI agents to operate safely, responsibly and at scale across the modern enterprise.
