Two leading retail executives from HP shared their insights on the retail industry and HP’s viewpoints during exclusive interviews with Retail TouchPoints. In two separate video presentations, Tom Peterson, Retail Industry Leader and Mario Vollbracht, Worldwide Segment Executive, HP Retail & Consumer Goods talked about the economic downturn, the connected consumer and the continued importance of the store.
“As the world is becoming more connected, retailers must embrace and become part of the social world,” Peterson noted. HP is equipped to help retail organizations modernize their IT infrastructure while generating incremental revenue, he noted.
Vollbracht added that “The connected consumer walks into a store well informed” and retailers must be prepared to be at least, if not more informed. To that end business intelligence and mobility are critical areas to address. He also talked about the changing relationship between retail and CPG companies, as well as the need to look at retail from a global perspective.
To help retailers achieve their goals, HP recently has introduced a new lineup of mobile workstations, including the HP Z210 Workstation and the HP EliteBook series. Additionally, the company announced new application transformation solutions, including HP Application Portfolio Management, HP Applications Transformation to Cloud, and HP Applications Rationalization services.
