Square
Debuts APIs To Enable Customized POS Apps

Payments technology provider
Square has introduced Build with Square, a collection
of APIs that will enable retailers to bring the Square experience to their own
e-Commerce and POS applications. Build With Square is designed to let merchants
track online and offline sales in one place. The Register API manages payments
in the POS and provides payment processing with only two lines of code, while
the E-Commerce API allows retailers to customize the checkout form on their web
site and enable Square to continue handling credit card information.

California
Is One Step Closer To A $15 Minimum Wage
:
A plan to raise California’s
minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2022 was approved on a vote of the state’s
Assembly Appropriations Committee. Supporters say such measures are necessary
to help low-paid workers who have been slipping into poverty due to stagnant
earnings and rising living expenses. Opponents say raising the mandatory wage
floor puts undue strain on businesses still struggling to rebound from a
prolonged U.S. economic slump. This is an issue California-based retailers are
likely keeping a close eye on, as retailers are often known for paying wages
close to state minimums.
