Consumers Are Eager To Celebrate The Red, White And Blue!

The summer is officially in full swing and Independence Day is upon us! Shoppers plan to celebrate the July 4th holiday weekend by attending barbecues and watching parades.

More than 156 million consumers – 64.4% of those celebrating – plan to attend a cookout, picnic or barbecue, according to the National Retail Federation’s 2015 Independence Day Survey, which was conducted by Prosper Insights & Analytics. The average household will spend $71.23, up from $68.16 last year.

Even better news for retailers: more than 48 million consumers will be picking up decorations, apparel and more to celebrate this patriotic holiday.

We’re wishing all of our readers and followers a great July 4th holiday weekend!
