Motorola Names Global Bay 2008 ISV Partner of the Year

Global Bay Mobile Technologies was recently selected by Motorola’s Enterprise Mobility Solutions division as 2008 North American/Latin American (NALA) Independent Software Vendor (ISV) of the Year.  Global Bay was chosen as the ISV of the Year based on its ability to rapidly deploy mobility solutions on Motorola hardware.

“Global Bay helps drive sales and significantly accelerates the sales process through the flexibility of their software which allows customers to see actual applications within a few days,” said Kathleen Curry, MSSI vice president and senior director of Motorola Enterprise Mobility North America Channel Sales. “Motorola recognized Global Bay as the PartnerSelect NALA ISV of the Year for their technology, solutions, support and tireless work ethic.”

Global Bay’s GBmobile platform, which has been validated across Motorola’s extensive line of Enterprise Digital Assistant (EDAs), is designed to enable customers to choose from pre-existing applications that can be easily configured to their exact requirements.

“We are extremely honored to have been named Motorola’s ISV partner of the year. We greatly value our relationship with Motorola and to be recognized this way by a world leader in mobility is great testament to the Global Bay people and product,” Global Bay’s CEO Sandeep Bhanote said of the award.

On a steady growth path over the past five years, Global Bay’s revenue has climbed between 40%-60% each consecutive year since 2004, according to Bhanote. Global Bay provides solutions for a wide range of industries in addition to retail, but says trends in selling propositions are changing in the retail arena.

“We are seeing retailers seeking new ways to differentiate when competing for consumer dollars,” said Bhanote. “One way in which we see this is taking point of sale ‘outside’ the four walls. The paradigm shift in thinking is, sell to the consumer outside of your store (i.e. stadiums, events, etc.)…Just being able to sell products in-store or online is no longer an option.”

GBmobile Retail Suite is designed to offer a flexible, highly configurable collection of mobile modules enabling retailers a 360-degree opportunity to service the customer. “Whether it is ensuring that the right product is in stock with inventory management, selling product wherever the customer is with Mobile POS, maximizing value to the customer by knowing what product to offer with clienteling, or getting feedback through customer surveys, our focus is providing customers an exceptional experience,” said Bhanote. The company’s end-to-end solution is designed to give retailers the ability to customize and streamline modifications to fit their business model.

Bhanote said Global Bay anticipates further expansion from the release of vertical specific handheld solutions that are pre-integrated with major back end systems. The company currently has offices three offices in the US, and a presence in the UK, Ukraine, China, Japan and Australia, and will continue to hire in these markets as well as expand into additional regions.
