RTP Honors 15 Top Retailers With Channel Integration Awards


cia_logo_smallWith another baseball season coming to a close, Retail TouchPoints (RTP) is taking a look at the cross-channel retailers who have “hit it out of the park” with efforts to integrate across channels. With the launch of the Channel Integration Awards (CIA), RTP is honoring the leaders in different verticals, based on their innovative approach to coordinating their cross-channel efforts. To bring this cross-section of cross-channel industry leaders together, Retail TouchPoints has collected and reviewed nominations and information from a variety of retail industry experts and executives.

Winners were chosen based on (but not limited to) the following criteria:

  • Sales gains, especially within emerging channels;
  • Convenience of shopping options, such as seamless cross channel shipping and pick up;
  • Cross-channel marketing, including in-store advertising for website and email marketing for store sales;
  • Customer recognition across channels, for those retailers that have a single customer view
  • Integration of systems include order management and sales history

For the 2009 CIA awards, RTP selected one winner in each of 15 retail categories. Those winners are as follows

  1. Toys “R” Us (Toy & Hobby)
  2. Moosejaw (Outdoor Specialty)
  3. Best Buy (Consumer Electronics/Appliances)
  4. Sears (Mass Merchant – Department Store/Automotive)
  5. Sport Chalet (Sporting Goods)
  6. Bliss (Health & Beauty)
  7. Victoria’s Secret (Women’s Specialty Apparel)
  8. Borders (Books, Audio and Accessories)
  9. DSW (Footwear)
  10. David’s Bridal (Specialty Apparel – Wedding and Special Occasion)
  11. Tesco Fresh Express (Supermarket)
  12. Build-A-Bear (Specialty Toy)
  13. Walgreen (Drug)
  14. Staples (Office Supply)
  15. Target (Mass Merchant – Home Furnishings)
