If there's anything retailers should take away from Gen Z shoppers and their spending habits, it's this: it's not just about the transaction. Retailers and brands alike need to be innovative above all else, according to a study of more than 1,500 U.S. high school and college students. Gen Z'ers want to buy from brands that are "epic creators," with 34% saying they have to be one of the most innovative brands out there.
These young shoppers also are interested in brands that empower their shoppers, make a global impact and carry a sense of social responsibility.
