Haggar Clothing Leverages Epicor Retail Solutions To Drive Expansion

More than one quarter (30%) of the 250 largest retail companies in the world are based in the U.S., according to the 2013 Global Powers of Retailing report, conducted by Deloitte Consulting. In order to continue growing, many of these retailers are recognizing the value of extending their brands beyond U.S. borders, and are implementing detailed plans for expansion.

One retailer, Haggar Clothing, a Texas-based men’s apparel manufacturer, has implemented the Epicor Retail Suite to support expansion throughout the U.S. and Canada.

“With Epicor, we are able to leverage strong assortment planning, replenishment and forecasting software that will allow our team to achieve higher levels of efficiencies and profitability,” noted Jackie Randall, VP of the Retail Division for Haggar Clothing. “Also, the depth of analysis capabilities allows for better decision-making.”

Haggar Clothing is leveraging the Epicor Retail Merchandising and Planning solutions to ensure high-demand products are in stock across locations, according to an Epicor press release. The company also will use the Audit and Operations Management solution to consolidate, validate and secure data from all sales channels into a central location.

Using Epicor Retail CRM, Haggar Clothing will gather customer data to better understand consumers’ buying habits across various geographies. This ongoing data collection and analysis is designed to allow the company to create more relevant marketing campaigns and in turn, foster long-term customer loyalty. Finally, the Business Intelligence solution will enable Haggar Clothing to collect and analyze data to identify prominent spending trends and improve operational decision making.

Prior to implementing the Epicor solutions, Haggar Clothing brick-and-mortar stores operated on an outdated POS system, Randall explained. Now, the brand will use the Epicor Retail Store solution to streamline point of sale transactions for an improved customer checkout experience. In addition, the CRM program was “non-existent,” Randall said in an interview with Retail TouchPoints. “Epicor offers an integrated software system that has made the transition into Canada much easier for us. [The Epicor] CRM offering is robust, and is helping us clearly understand who is shopping our brand in Canada, thus allowing our team to track and capitalize on regional trends and shopping patterns.” As a result, Haggar Clothing can “ensure our marketing and merchandising is spot-on from the minute we open the doors for each location.”

Haggar Clothing plans to open as many as 15 stores annually in the U.S. through 2017. The company also is scheduled to open two to three stores each year in Canada over the next four years.
