Dolce&Gabbana (D&G) announced today that the Italian fashion brand has implemented Akamai’s Dynamic Site Accelerator and is improving site performance, load time and the overall user experience. “Akamai analyzed the different versions of our web site and helped us determine that the main issue was poor performance in many countries where our portal is available,” according to the Group Director of Digital Marketing & Communications. “We then implemented Akamai’s Dynamic Site Accelerator solution to help accelerate the delivery of rich, interactive content and applications on our sites, thus ensuring seamless delivery of our web site.” Since the implementation, the D&G site’s performance has improved nearly six times globally on average. Previously, site load time was more than 8.5 seconds on average and has decreased to less than 1.5 seconds with the Akamai solution. The Dynamic site accelerator is part of Akamai’s Aqua Web Solutions.
D&G also is using Akamai’s services to support live event streaming, such as fashion catwalks. With the Akamai Media Delivery solution, D&G is able to broadcast events both live and on demand, across multiple platforms, including iPhone, iPad, iTouch and Android mobile devices.
