Shoppers Seek Stronger In-Store/Online Integration

Consumers still like many aspects of the store experience, including the ability to touch and feel products before they buy, and having access to personal help from a store associate. But they would enjoy store shopping even more if it featured stronger connections with other points on the customer journey:

  • 70% of shoppers who begin a purchase online and then go into a store would like it if store associates knew which items were in their online shopping cart;
  • 60% of shoppers feel more confident they are going to receive prompt, personal service if they see associates collaborating with each other using mobile devices; and
  • 64% would use their own devices to schedule an in-store appointment with a retail associate at a time that's convenient for the shopper.
