San Francisco mobile start-up, Quri, announced the launch of QCard, a tool which provides brands access to in-store performance and execution of products and promotions. In addition, the solution analyzes details about the shelf life of each SKU.
Designed to provide real-time visibility into the product movement from the warehouse to checkout, QCard employs the efforts of trained, “secret shoppers” who visit stores in order to take photos of promotional displays and find answers to questions about product stock levels and pricing accuracy. The secret shoppers relay the data in real time through the Quri dashboard. The solution has been able to identify many in-store issues, such as out-of-stocks, pricing discrepancies, and missing price tags.

Elavon, a provider of payments solutions, has unveiled a new division at its Atlanta headquarters, designed to focus on mobile solutions for both large and small merchants. For larger merchants, new solutions developed at the mobile innovation center will be compatible with Elavon’s complete set of payments and security solutions. Capabilities for smaller merchants will include a variety of options for accepting payments.
“Our focus will be on new technologies that enable merchants to accept payments via mobile devices while also ensuring the ease of use and safety of the transaction from the customer’s perspective,” said Marianne Johnson, EVP of Global Product and Innovation for Elavon. “Payments are moving closer to the concept of the mobile wallet housed on a smartphone or other device.”

PGA Tour Superstore, a golf and tennis retailer, has selected the JDA Commerce Suite to update its e-Commerce web site while integrating online and in-store operations. The PGA Tour Superstore’s e-Commerce operations will now offer:
- Integrated call center and order management capabilities;
- A customer loyalty program that extends across channels;
- Enhanced merchandising and content management tools;
- Visual web site management capabilities; and
Updated promotional and personalization features.

SDL, a provider of software and services designed to improve customer experience management, has acquired bemoko, a supplier of mobile web solutions. The acquisition will leverage content targeting, personalization, campaign management and customer analytics functionality.
The mobile customer experience is moving beyond simply reproducing a web site onto a smaller screen, noted Ian Truscott, VP of Product Marketing for the SDL Content Management Technologies Division, in an interview with Loyalty 360, a loyalty marketing association.

Capital One is partnering with ShopSavvy to deliver personalized offers to ShopSavvy mobile app users while shopping in-store. When registered Capital One customers search for products within the ShopSavvy platform, they will receive relevant merchant offers in real time.
Capital One customers can register for the program in three ways: 1) by clicking the link in an email received from Capital One; 2) by tapping the banner ad within ShopSavvy; or 3) by visiting capitalone.shopsavvy.com. To participate, Capital One card holders must agree to link their cards to the ShopSavvy Wallet; share basic credit card information (name, address, card number, expiration date, etc.); and set up a personal profile. After submitting this information, customers automatically will be registered with ShopSavvy Wallet.
