eBay Rebrands Shopping.com As The eBay Commerce Network

has relaunched Shopping.com, a price comparison web site it purchased in 2005, as an e-Commerce advertising network. The new eBay Commerce Network is designed to enable merchants and publishers to advertise across eBay and hundreds of other web sites using a single campaign, according to an Internet Retailer article.

The rebranded Shopping.com tool now distributes a retailer’s product listing across sites including Bing, comparison shopping engines, content sites and e-marketplaces, noted Kristy Troup, GM of U.S. Business at the eBay Commerce Network.

Amazon To Purchase Goodreads

Amazon_goodreadsAmazon announced the acquisition of Goodreads, a book recommendation web site with more than 16 million members and 30,000 web-based book clubs.

Both companies share a passion for reinventing reading, said Russ Grandinetti, VP of Kindle Content for Amazon. “Goodreads has helped change how we discover and discuss books and, with Kindle, Amazon has helped expand reading around the world. In addition, the companies have helped thousands of authors reach a wider audience and make a better living at their craft.”

adidasAdidas chose iProspect, a digital marketing strategist, to estimate the value of each store locator click on the mobile web site. The goal for adidas is to understand and leverage the power of mobile to reach on-the-go consumers.

"Adidas has always felt like mobile is the right thing to do,” said Nicole Mills, Senior Digital Marketing Manager for Ecommerce at adidas. Mobile implementation “is really the ability to connect the investment to the return.”

My Wireless Reduces Loss With Video Surveillance System From Plustek

My Wireless AT&T stores have implemented a digital video recording surveillance system from Plustek, a manufacturer of surveillance management devices designed to increase security and decrease loss. The devices are active in 50 My Wireless AT&T stores throughout California and Nevada.

My Wireless stores are required by AT&T to display products for hands-on trial, which places the stores at high risk for shoplifting. The Plustek nDVR 540 digital video recording surveillance units, integrated with CCTV cameras, helps protect the stores from loss due to theft. The devices may be managed from remote, online locations, such as a centralized AT&T office, and from most mobile devices, including the Android, iPhone and iPad.
