Foursquare Expands Credit Cards Program With First Data Solution

Foursquare has implemented the OfferWise solution from First Data, an electronic commerce and payment processing company, to enable the Foursquare Specials for Credit Cards program to accept Visa and MasterCard and most debit cards.

OfferWise is an open platform that allows merchants to deliver electronic offers such as deals, eCoupons and loyalty programs to consumers who attach one or more of a their payment cards or mobile wallet to the solution.

To participate in the Foursquare Specials program, consumers select their card of choice, check in at participating First Data merchants, and pay for the purchase with the connected card. The discount is sent back to the credit card or bank account in real time.
