Manhattan Assoc

Manhattan Associates Inc. has acquired the POS and clienteling assets of GlobalBay Technologies from VeriFone. Final terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The combined assets will help to deliver an improved omnichannel experience for store associates and shoppers, according to Manhattan Associates in a press statement. Manhattan will be incorporating GlobalBay’s POS and clienteling applications into its repertoire of Enterprise Inventory Visibility, Order Management and Store solutions.

Benefits of the newly formed offerings will include the ability for store associates to:
  • Acquire an omnichannel view of the customer;
  • Sell any unit of inventory across the entire retail network; and
  • Handle cross-channel transactions such as returns and exchanges.

“Our decision to acquire GlobalBay was driven primarily by our customers asking us to extend our omnichannel scope within their stores,” said Eddie Capel, CEO of Manhattan Associates. “Moving beyond inventory and fulfillment and into sales and clienteling is one way we’ll provide a comprehensive store platform with omnichannel at its core. For our customers, this means that they will now have the ability to unlock the information that presents a single view of customers, orders, and inventory.”

VeriFone will retain its GlobalBay Merchant solution for small merchants and rebrand it in the coming months, according to a company press release.
