Barnes & Noble has appointed Michael P. Huseby as CEO, effective Jan. 8, 2014.
In his new position, Huseby will be responsible for all company units, which include Barnes & Noble Retail, Barnes & Noble College and NOOK Media. He will serve, and report to, the company’s Board of Directors.
Huseby noted that his primary goal in his new position is to “enhance and unlock the value of these businesses for our shareholders. We are well-positioned in today’s dynamic reading and learning markets and confident in our ability to provide our customers with the best content offerings, digital media and educational products available in today’s marketplace.”
Since initially joining Barnes & Noble in 2012, Huseby has quickly accelerated up the company ranks, first serving as CFO. In July 2013, he was promoted to President.
