Zara Implements RFID In 700 Stores

Inditex Group has announced that it will implement RFID-based Inventory Intelligence from Tyco across the entire Zara chain.

The Tyco solution is currently being implemented in 700 Zara stores across 22 countries to provide accurate visibility into all merchandise styles, colors and sizes.

With a 360-degree view of inventory, Inditex will be able to create detailed merchandise plans and tailored product assortments, and deliver a streamlined experience across the Zara chain.

“Implementation of this next-generation technology is the one of the most significant changes ever in how the Group’s stores operate,” said Pablo Isla, President of Inditex. The retailer is using Sensormatic dual technology RFID/Acousto-Magnetic (RFID/AM) hard tags and detachers at the point of sale.

Tyco will take an environmentally conscious approach to tag recirculation by re-using all RFID/AM tags from Inditex.

The professional services team from Tyco is acting as a strategic partner to Inditex as RFID is deployed across all stores.

“Inditex constantly delivers fresh assortments to attract customers,” said Nancy Chisholm, President at Tyco Retail Solutions. “Now, having real-time visibility to their inventory enables Inditex to keep pace with fashion trends and meet discriminating shopper needs.”
