To help expand the adoption and acceptance of mobile point of sale (mPOS), Samsung and Verifone are working together to introduce a partner solution in 2015.
Scheduled for release during the year, the new solution with feature:
- Samsung Galaxy Tab Active tablet with an eight-inch screen;
- Verifone point-to-point encryption of payment data combined with Samsung’s Knox mobile device security;
- The ability to accept a variety of payment types, including EMV, NFC, beacon and traditional mag stripe; and
- Commerce Enablement from Verifone, designed to allow retailers to deliver value-added services, targeting marketing and advertising content both in-store and outside the four walls of the store.
The new, combined solution also will support the Verifone Secure Commerce Architecture (SCA) solution, designed to remove the integrated point of sale (IPOS) system from the scope of EMV certification, which will reduce the security burden for retail organizations.
