SPAR Expands Footprint To Brazil With New Momentum Acquisition

Merchandising and retail services provider SPAR Group has acquired ownership of New Momentum and New Momentum Services from The Interpublic Group. The new venture, called SPAR Brazil, will provide merchandising, in-store promotion and other marketing and retail services to Brazil’s 26 states.

The new acquisition expands SPAR’s global coverage to South America, which now spans six continents and 50% of the world’s population. SPAR Brazil will provide global clients with field management, reporting, tracking and productivity enhancements, and will serve as a foundation for further expansion.

The acquired New Momentum In-Store companies will be consolidated subsidiaries of SPAR and are expected to add more than 20% to SPAR’s annual revenue, according to the company.

“The arrival of SPAR in Brazil is very important to the development of this sector,” said Jonathan Dagues, CEO and President of SPAR Brazil in a statement. “SPAR’s global experience and sector intelligence, combined with its superior technology, give us a decided edge in the market as Brazilian in-store merchandising and marketing efforts continue to develop.”

SPAR Brazil will be headquartered in São Paulo with a second office in Rio de Janeiro.
