SmarterHQ, maker of a customer personalization engine, has secured $13 million in funding. Spring Lake Equity led the round with additional participation from Simon Venture Group and Battery Ventures. SmarterHQ will use these funds to expand sales and marketing efforts as it continues growing into new vertical markets, including financial services, travel and hospitality.
SmarterHQ enables B2C marketers to respond to customers in real-time through automated multi-channel campaigns, based on their online and offline behavior. The company works with retail brands such as Eddie Bauer, eBags, Chico’s and Finish Line. It has also started working with financial services company Santander Bank, N.A. and auto company CarRentals.com.
