About Retail TouchPoints


Our mission at Retail TouchPoints is simply to provide executives in customer-facing roles with relevant, insightful content across a variety of digital mediums. While research has shown a significant shift by retailers towards investment in customer-facing technologies, a surprisingly high number of retailers still don’t have a CRM strategy they are satisfied with or a program to build or measure customer loyalty. Clearly there is still a lot of work to be done a lot of information to be gathered.

In addition, the role of operations will play an increasingly larger role as new in-store technologies emerge and retailers look to differentiate themselves from the competition by providing an optimal shopping experience.

By providing content in formats that is easy to access and share with peers, our goal is to create a platform that helps to connect retail executives together with peers and solution providers who have unique knowledge into specialized areas of customer service, customer experience and marketing measurement.

Our goal is to be a resource for both readers and marketers and provide a quality experience for both. In order to continue to build a community around improving the customer experience, we plan to build Advisory Board Groups to share their expertise and insights, as well as to help point out the voids where new research and thought leadership will best serve the industry.

And finally for marketers, we will utilize Web 2.0 technologies—including virtual trade shows, e-newsletters, and e-books— to provide new and different ways to connect with customers and prospects that is both measurable and actionable.

Andrew Gaffney, Editor/PublisherAndrew Gaffney, Editor/Publisher
During his career Andrew has served as an Editor and Publisher for several different business magazines, including This Week In Consumer Electronics (TWICE), Sporting Goods Business, Consumer Goods Technology, Retail Info Systems, Hospitality Technology and Mobile Enterprise. Within each of these markets, Andrew has demonstrated a unique ability to quickly identify the business issues that resonate and matter most to executive level readers. Subsequently, he has consistently helped create and match content that generates interest and readership among that executive community.

Working with a wide variety of clients from tech firms to sports properties and lifestyle brands, Andrew has crafted successful campaigns built around white papers, event-based advertising sections and sales training materials for clients such as Major League Baseball, Canon, DuPont, SAP, Business Objects, Oracle and many others.

Sal LoSauro, VP of Business DevelopmentSal LoSauro, VP of Business Development
Prior to his current role, Sal served as Sales Manager for Retail Info Systems (RIS) News for 6 years. During that time he was an integral part of the publication’s growth in print, electronic media, and executive events. He also worked closely with solutions providers in developing personalized marketing plans that met their specific needs. Prior to RIS he was the National Sales Manager for Health & Fitness Business where he spearheaded the sales and marketing efforts for H&F’s publication, conference, and trade show.

After serving for seven years as Publisher of Integrated Solutions for Retailers magazine, Cleary most recently served as Publisher of Retail Solutions Online, a division of Vert Markets. During his tenure as Publisher of Integrated Solutions for Retailers, Clearly drove consistent double digit year-over-year revenue. In his recent role at Retail Solutions Online, Cleary expanded the brand’s base of strategic partners and launched several new research and content initiatives.

Debbie Hauss, Executive Editor
Debbie has worked as a writer, editor and editorial manager in various industries for more than 25 years. Recently she was a Managing Editor for Retail Information Systems News, a multi-media company covering the retail technology industry. She also previously worked as Project Manager and Copy Editor for a Lexis Nexis website called lexisONE.com. Debbie spent six years as a President and Board Member on her local Board of Education and in her spare time she runs marathons.

John Gaffney, Senior EditorJohn Gaffney, Senior Editor
John has extensive experience covering customer relationship management as well as consumer marketing trends. Most recently, he served as Senior Editor of 1-to-1 Magazine as well as the editor of the Marketing X-Factor e-newsletter. John has also covered the marketing and media sector extensively for publications such as Business 2.0, Media Post, and Video Business. In addition to his media experience, John has also held marketing positions for Yahoo and CBS/Fox Home Video.

Focused on social media and mobile commerce, Amanda follows telling trends and consumer-driven applications for retail. Amanda also contributes to DemandGen Report, reporting the trending strategies and tactics central to demand generation and sales & marketing alignment. Her articles have been syndicated on RetailWire and industry blogs. In addition to her business writing, Amanda also pens a blog focused on mainstream music and was awarded several honors by the New Jersey Press Association, including First Place in General Excellence and First Place for Arts & Entertainment/Critical Writing.
